This year was Stanton Friedman’s last year at the UFO Festival as he will be retiring at the end of this year. Stanton Friedman is the man who, back in 1978, came to Roswell and started asking questions about the 1947 Roswell Incident. Soon after, Roswell became a very well-known town. Stanton became interested in UFOs in 1958, and since 1967 has lectured about them at more than 600 colleges and 100 professional groups in all 50 U.S. states, all 10 Canadian provinces and 19 other countries. There’s no doubt we will miss his presence at our annual events!
On Friday, July 6, the UFO Museum had our annual Meet & Greet Breakfast with all our Guest Speakers, followed by our Opening Ceremony to kick-off this year’s event. Friday was also declared Stanton Friedman Day. Saturday, July 7, the Museum participated in the Light Parade. This year’s theme was eUFOric Space Adventure; so, we let our pro’s get to it, and guess what? WE WON BEST LIGHTS! Sunday, July 8, the Museum wrapped up our event with a dinner for our Staff and Guest Speakers.
Many thanks goes out to everyone involved in making this year’s festival a success, especially our Guest Speakers and Staff who did everything to make our 2018 Ufologist Invasion one to remember by all who attended.
Stay tuned for more exciting news!
Sorry to hear Mr. Friedman is retiring but most happy for him. He has been a tireless force in spreading awareness of alien life for so long he will be sorely missed, but having been to the museum, I know there are many great folks just as dedicated continuing his work.
