is a professional mathematician and widely published writer. He serves as the New Mexico State Director for MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network, and has worked on many classic UFO cases, including Roswell, Socorro, Levelland, and the Lubbock Lights, as well as mathematical consulting for the late Lloyd Pye’s Starchild Skull DNA recovery project. He is the author of twenty-four books, including UFOs and the Murder of Marilyn Monroe, UFO Secrecy and the Fall of J. Robert Oppenheimer, and the novella The Roswell Genes. He is on the editorial board of the journal The American Rationalist and has been writing his UFO-related newspaper column Looking Up (in the Roswell Daily Record’s Vision Magazine) since 1999. Dr. Burleson and his wife Mollie have lived in Roswell, New Mexico since 1996.
