Lectures by Noe Torres & Ruben Uriarte
at The 2009 UFO Festival:
1) The "Other" Roswell:
1955 UFO Crash on the Texas-Mexico Border. The
amazing testimony of a living eyewitness to a UFO crash near
Del Rio, Texas in 1955. Retired Air Force Colonel Robert B.
Willingham was piloting an F-86 fighter jet across West
Texas when he locked onto a "bogey" traveling at over 2,000
miles per hour and executing 90-degree turns without
slowing. Observing that the UFO was in distress, the Colonel
saw it plummet toward the earth, striking the sandy desert
soil just south of Langtry, Texas. After switching
planes, Willingham landed near the crash site and walked
amidst the debris field created by an object he believes
to this day was "not of this earth."
2) "Mexico's Roswell,"
1974 UFO Crash near Coyame, Mexico. At about 10:30
p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 1974, a blazing fireball erupted
in the night sky northwest of the small Texas border town of
Presidio. Evidence suggests that a mid-air collision between
a UFO and a small passenger plane occurred about 40
miles from Presidio, near the Mexican village of Coyame.
Debris rained down to the Chihuahuan Desert below and the
crashed UFO was later recovered by an elite U.S. recovery
team. Recently, UFO investigators Ruben Uriarte and Noe
Torres have visited the area of the crash several times,
have interviewed witnesses, and found strange metallic
debris. The will discuss their ongoing investigation into
this bizarre case, which has spawned two books and two
television documentaries.
3) The Chihuahuan
Desert: Portal to the Stars? Some of history's most
stunning UFO cases have occurred in the mysterious region
known as the Chihuahuan Desert, extending over 800 miles
from just north of Mexico City to Roswell, New
Mexico. Incredible stories of visitors from the stars abound
on both sides of the Rio Grande River in the wildest and
most remote stretches of this unearthly desert. Ruben
Uriarte and Noe Torres, frequent travelers to the Chihuahuan
Desert, will discuss the most significant UFO cases of the
region and will expore the question: why is this area so
frequently associated with UFO activity?
Noe Torres has
been a researcher, librarian, and lecturer for over 20 years. A
member of Texas MUFON, Noe has appeared on the History Channel's
UFO Hunters, George Noory's Coast to Coast AM,
Paranormal Radio with Captain Jack, Speaking of Strange,
the Jerry Pippin show, and numerous other programs. Noe
has written a motion-picture screenplay and four books,
including Mexico's Roswell, which he co-authored in
2007 with veteran UFO researcher Ruben Uriarte. Noe and Ruben
have just completed a book titled The Other Roswell: UFO
Crash on the Texas-Mexico Border. In addition, Noe has been
a speaker at the 2007 Roswell UFO Museum Festival, the UFO Crash
Retrieval Conference in Las Vegas, as well as many other
conferences and events. Noe holds a Master's degree in library
and information science from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ruben Uriarte has
been a member of MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) for over 20 years
and is currently state director for Northern California. A
graduate of Cal State University at Hayward with a degree in
Psychology and Latin American Studies, Ruben was formerly a
state coordinator for Crop Circle Phenomena Research
International and research director for Beyond Boundaries,
a UFO tour company, Ruben is now the liasion between MUFON and
its counterpart in Mexico, OMIFO. Ruben has been interviewed
about UFOs on many radio and television programs and, with Noe
Torres, has authored two books about UFO crash retrievals.
